Sorry that I don’t do Christmas cheer (or Anzac Day commemoration, or even much of birthdays or other life events) here. A few have taken that as evidence that I’m not living a full life, which I flip by asking them why they’re living their life through social media. I’m living a full life, just deliberately not through a social media platform. Make 2025 the year where you reverse the capturing of your personal and social life, by these platforms. Then we may get actual community back, outside these platforms, rather than the performative status games that we mistake for community here.
