Once a person reaches a famous landmark, or meets a famous person, there’s a fascinating…nothing. Like people who have a crush on somebody for ages, then get together with them, and are confronted with the actual reality of the person for the first time. Often it ends badly (40% of marriages end in divorce). It’s an open question, what does ‘being there’ add to anything? Why do we NEED to travel, to ‘be there’? Do you think this woman found some magical essence of the Eiffel Tower, when she arrived? No, she took a selfie. Her focus remained her own social group, back home.
