People watch something like Married at First Sight or The Bachelor for the drama and interpersonal politics. And yet right now, with Brexit, we have something that is real and so important, and infinitely more dramatic and interesting, completely brutal and unpredictable, like a Shakespeare play come to life, and what do people feel? Boredom and anger. Many tear their hair out, just wanting it 'done'. Has it occurred to them that this brutal debate IS the 'it', that the outcome of it is actually secondary? This is the battle and debate for our democracies, the debate IS the outcome, for me.
