Imagine a perfomer approaching 80 headlining Woodstock in the 1960s. An elderly person, old enough to be a great-grandparent. It would never have happened, it would have been seen as ridiculous. But here we are. I love Elton’s music and the man, that’s not the point. The point is a generation who will not grow up. The Peter Pan generation, who want to keep living the lives they lived as teenagers. Who sees Elton as an elderly man? That’s what he literally is.
