Was in a building where most people have been living the ‘Covid is over’ stuff for over a year, happy and chirpy as if life is back to good ol’ normal. Then a member of the public entered the building, wearing a mask, and declared they were Covid positive. The immediate shift in mood was amazing. You could smell fear, anxiety, anger. Some even started spraying Glen 20 in the air. People say Covid is over in the same way they drive the most popular car, or wear the most popular clothes. They want to fit in, to not stand out from the crowd. It’s a social thing, not a scientific thing. ‘Covid is over’ is ‘trending’, that’s all. Underneath that many know it’s a lie, and fear infection just as much as always. As they should.
