When I say adult life has been completely replaced with adolescent life, politics is a good example. We look at politics the same way we watch a State of Origin game. Red v Blue, even the colours are the same (we use the same in V8 Supercars). Societies aren’t run by politicians. They’re run by institutions. Like the laws and universities, and public health, and air traffic control, and taxation etc. etc. etc. In the US Trump is taking on the oldest and mightiest of instititions, the law, and universities. For now they’re refusing to bow to him. It’s impossible to say who will win here. Public health as an institution was swept away by the a global idiot tide of social media-driven adolescent life, whinging because it wanted to go back to gigs and recreational travel. But for now, US law and universities are telling Trump to go fuck himself.
