Nuclear power plants share something in common with the rubbish petrol and diesel engines I’m always so unkind to. They’re hopelessly inefficient. About two-thirds of the energy they produce goes straight up the chimney. Renewables are nearly 100% efficient. Nearly every kW of energy they produce can be used. Also why you need much less of them (at much lower cost) than these old dinosaur power plants.
