Robots are going to change the world. For a long time the challenge was making them physically capable of doing complex tasks. But they’ve been able to get them to do even backflips already for years, the challenge isn’t the hardware. It’s the brain, the software. Every single task had to have its own program. But now with AI, they’re giving robots generalisable intelligence, to be able to figure out novel situations all by themselves. Have a look. And what one robot learns, it can feed back to other robots, so the learning becomes exponentially fast. Google is doing amazing things. Its Gemini robotics (from its Gemini AI, which you can use for free right now) is leading the way. If you’re worried robots and AI will take over the world, put away the Terminator movies. What the world needs right now is intelligence, from anywhere.
