Nobody has ever been able to explain to me why if you want to be an architect or nurse or teacher or engineer in Australia, or any job that needs university training, you have to pay for your own training. But if you're a tradie, you not only have your training paid for, but you get paid a wage while you're training as well. The average salary for tradies in Australia is between $70,000-$90,000. The average salary of a university graduate is $45,000-$70,000. University graduates also then carry large debts from their training, to pay for out of those salaries over many years.
