Everybody I talk to who works in an essential industry says the situation is dire. Nobody can get staff, experienced staff they have are walking out the door, either fed up with the work or going somewhere else for a lot more money. Businesses are carrying huge lists of vacancies. Covid absolutely rampant, and then staff getting hit by waves of secondary infections, often really scary, nasty infections. Then being hit by Covid again, rinse and repeat. I sometimes think not enough people work in those essential areas, to see just how much everything is collapsing.
