You can look up the way technologies like CDs, film, digital encoding, magnetic tape etc. ‘work’. But there’s a mystery, even a miracle, that won’t be explained. How is it that images and sound are able to be captured by plastic and metal and digital bits? What is it about the world itself that means images and sounds are able to be transformed into completely separate materials?
