The dark underbelly of Grand Designs. Architecture is a field that has failed almost completely. To succeed it would have to be impacting on a lot more housing and building than it is. Instead it caters for the wealthy, who can indulge the fantasies of architects. All the rubbish about 'bespoke' and 'craftsmanship', just hides the fact that architecture has never managed to make inroads into mass housing. And it's their own fault, they made architecture about architects, and not about people.
