The idea of ‘community consultation’ is nonsense. A community is a whole range of separate groups, all aligned with their particular ‘influencer’. All fighting the other groups for social status. The winners always claim it’s ’the community’ that won. If you have big community consultations like this, you’ll produce nothing, as everything becomes a fight between the competing groups. It’s backwards, you don’t ask big groups of people what to do. You offer them something, that if they adopt then *becomes* a community, aligned around what they were offered. You can see this even in art, or business. Nobody successful surveys everybody to ask what they want. They produce something that will hopefully capture their desires, thereby forming a community.
