Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s (try typing that in a hurry) ‘flow’ is a way of being. Once you get good at it, it beats anything else - it makes it possible for everything you do to become transcendent, no matter how trivial. (The main reason I’m not fussed about travel.) Many traditions have realised that basic presence is what gives you this transcendent experience, and it’s built right into the world. One of the reasons the debates between religion and other traditions seem so empty and pointless, arguing over different transcendences, when in fact the world is already transcendent.
