At $51 billion the NBN is Australia’s biggest ever infrastructure project, and it makes some people wince. But just to keep our societies running, an estimated $40 billion a year will be needed on infrastructure. Per YEAR. Because infrastructure needs long-term thinking, I think it’s the best measure of the circle of life. Tradition and multi-generational thinking. These numbers indicate how much the last generation focused on themselves, and how broken our relationship with time is. Societies of the eternal present.
