Somebody once taught me that we are born old, and we get younger every day we live. And I understand it now, every baby is the folded times of all of its ancestors, carrying their histories within it. I’m typing with my father’s hands, I see them right now. Our lives are all of the ways we cast off from that history and add new layers to it, moving against time, adding new connections. Which in turn will be folded into our children, who will be born even older than we were at birth.
