Had another person say this week ‘why are you still wearing a mask?’ They asked in the way I know very well, what they mean is ‘nobody else is wearing a mask, why are you?’ Their measure of what to do is what other people are doing. They’re more worried about looking different to other people, than they are about letting this bastard virus take up residence in their bodies. This is the high school culture we now have, from cradle to grave. Also featuring gems like ‘we can’t live like this forever’. Meaning they’re bored with it. Like reality cares if they’re entertained or not. This virus has already killed more people than died in World War 1. And it’s still killing, at record rates. We didn’t stop fighting World War 1 because we got bored.
