The phrase ‘range anxiety’ for EVs. Petrol and diesel cars don’t have great range. They have thousands of service stations. Filled daily by huge fuel tankers travelling back and forth from the refinery (actually now back and forth from the ports, because we ship 90% of the fuel in from overseas, already refined). When these are replaced by electric charging stations, you won’t need the trucks. Or the refineries. Or just plug it in at home, there’ll be millions of service stations. Anybody got a petrol or diesel bowser at home? And the $50 billion+ we spend buying the fuel from overseas every year? It’ll stay right here at home, rather than making Texans and Arabs rich.
