The benefits of a battery. Been a wintry few weeks in Lithgow, lot of cloud and rain, but the solar still produces more than enough power. This morning when I got up the battery was still 54% full, from yesterday’s charging, and that’s with everybody except me home for the holidays, using power all day. Now at 45% after 90 minutes of heating, cooking breakfast etc. (Still dark.) That 0.1 kW usage includes two reverse-cycle heat pumps currently running to make the house maximally comfortable for the boss when she gets up (she’s cold-blooded). With the new windows they barely come on, so it all adds together to create even more savings and comfort.
