I went to a family event on Saturday, a barbecue lunch for a local club. Generously they’d laid on all the food, and drinks were free as well. What disappointed me but didn’t surprise me was what the younger parents drank. Vodka Cruisers and bourbon and Coke. At lunchtime, at a community family barbecue. Are we totally oblivious to how alcohol is out of control in our society? I hate sounding like a wowser, I always loved a drink myself, but seriously - vodka and bourbon at noon, at a community family event? Apart from the health effects, it just lacks class.
