I think it’s a mistake for anybody to claim the election victory as a victory for their interests or group. It was a victory for the Australian community, it was that community reasserting itself as the main focus of our politics. That isn’t mutually exclusive with it being a victory for women, as well, for example. It definitely was that, because they are marginalised in our communities. But we need to stop with tribalism, our teams at war with other teams.
