A little bit of Proust every day, I reckon. Proust used the taste of Madeleine cakes to explain more about memory and how it works. We've all experienced that, how a taste or a smell can immediately throw us back in time, to an earlier part of our lives where we previously experienced that taste or smell. It happens so fast that often we pass over it and don't realise how amazing it is. It's not 'remembering', you're literally THERE again, for that brief moment, the entire past comes rushing back at you. Time doesn't pass, the past is always just there.
