I walked some of the streets of Bathurst in my lunch break today. Pubs, restaurants, cafes - many deserted. Not a soul inside. Very few shoppers about either, eerily quiet. Infection has destroyed the ‘Economy’. Today the Premier said NSW has to ‘push through’ the Omicron wave. Meaningless gibberish. Still encouraging the lunatic idea that you beat a pandemic virus by infecting everybody with it. Shirtfronting it, ‘staring it down’. Successfully convincing people that’s how we ‘live with’ flu, when in fact pandemic flus (not the garden variety seasonal flu we know) are a public health emergency, just like Covid. Soon the State’s children will be thrown to the Covid wolves. Where does it end.
