I share the solar stuff for those interested in how it pans out in practice. Here’s our highest-level use per quarter, in the past year. Yellow is electricty imports, green exports (we earn $ for those). Not shown is the solar electricity we used ourselves, which is the biggest money earner. A is before we had the solar, Spring 2022. Solar went on just before Christmas 2022, so B is a mix but mostly no-solar. C was the beginning of full solar, summer + half of autumn. Etc. You can see even in winter we exported more than we imported. (All our heating is electric.)
