Australian vehicles use about 40 olympic swimming pools of fuel every day. Over 90% of that fuel is imported. That’s almost a billion dollars per week, going offshore. When the vehicle fleet shifts to electric, all of that energy can be generated here at home, saving the country about $50 billion per year. Even better, that energy will be almost free, in perpetuity.
