Look at the ad spend for Tesla, compared to other car brands. It's almost non-existent. It also does very little PR. The downside of that is people don't get to see the real novelty of what they're doing. They put the huge dollars they save back into R&D. Why I think we need to understand Tesla, they're re-designing not only cars, but how to do business and how to even run a society. Tesla is replacing not just marketing, but also the idea that humans first discuss and debate things, and then they build a society from those discussions. That's nonsense. Tesla builds things that are constantly improving with use, by making users and their data part of the technology network itself. It's mutually reinforcing, and it means knowledge is woven into societies, and grows with use. Things get continuously better and smarter. It is Tesla's mission statement, 'amazing abundance'. I don't like mission statements, but Tesla walks the talk. It's trying to create a world of amazing abundance, where everything continuously improves everything else, in use, in real time.
