I was one of those critical of John Howard and Peter Costello's massive 'middle class welfare' increases to family payments during the mining boom. But to give Howard his due (I don't think Costello was ever a fan), he saw it as a type of wealth redistribution, towards families, and that's not such a bad thing. All over now though. Amazing what this current crop of feral accountants we have running the country will do just to get a budget into the black. Lots of low hanging fruit at the top end of town, they're not going anywhere near it. Keep kicking the people who can least afford it. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/are-you-on-top-of-centrelinks-family-benefits-changes/news-story/f4a8d17aa561572e9bedd6b91dd8c938?utm_content=SocialFlow&utm_campaign=EditorialSF&utm_source=DailyTelegraph&utm_medium=Facebook
