I’ve still not heard a definition of love that doesn’t define it as something else - affection, caring, selflessness etc. What I think people mean when they say they want to be loved, is that they want to be recognised for who they are, rather than as some variation on everybody else. They want their individual nature, their essential aloneness, to be recognised.
