Australia has about 16 operating coal-fired power stations. The nuclear proposal is replacing these with 7 nuclear plants. Nuclear power stations don’t produce more power than coal-fired ones. So how do you replace 16, with 7? You don’t. The nuclear power stations proposed will only be able to generate about 10% of Australia’s electricty. At a cost of well over $100 billion. Let that sink in, the magnitude of stupidity in play here.
