Let me plug again why you should have air purifiers at home. My favourite - the IKEA Starkvind. Unbeatable on cost, less than $200 for the freestanding model or $250 for the version that also acts as a brilliant coffee table. And the filters are only $20, and last a long time. You’ll pay up to $1000 for other brands, and up to $100 for their filters. The more expensive brands may have slightly higher filtration ratings (higher HEPA scores), but actually that doesn’t matter if you just run the things constantly, even with lower HEPA numbers the Starkvind will do the same filtration because it filters the same air multiple times. So - why should you own these, even multiples of them? Dirty air is the silent killer in our societies. Especially particulates from combustion vehicle exhausts. Plus many experience hayfever and other respiratory illness every year. Lung cancer is also increasing even amongst the young and non-smokers, because of the impact of dirty air. And how many families right now struggle with constant infectious illness? Very, very many. This keeps the air clean in your home, and helps protect you even when other family members are sick. It also helps the sick to heal, put one in their room if they’re crook and it stops them constantly re-breathing the same infected air. It accelerates how fast they get better. We have 4 Starkvinds and they’re so easy to move we can put them just where we need them, at any time. Superb Scandinavian design.
