This is a team sports battle going back decades, Mac vs PC. PCs (and Windows) are rubbish, like the ICEs of computing, only dominant because of historical trickery from people like Microsoft. No integrated hardware and software design. Time has proven this to me over and over again. All of our Apple products just work, and for years. Laptops 4 or 5 years old feel like brand new. My iPad is even older and still works as flawlessly as the day I bought it. Never, not once, have any of them had a security issue. Those can happen with Apple, but they're much rarer. What keeps PCs and Windows dominant is the inertia of IT departments in organisations. Usually full of people who were social misfits and enjoy lording it over people now in their job, including by doing everything possible to discourage Apple products, which they see as a rival team. That's improved over the years, but not much, for fun I asked at work about using a Mac, and IT laughed. The IT crowd love that Windows and PCs are more 'configurable' i.e. they're more able to fiddle with them. Just like ICE fanboys, it's a core part of their social status schtick. I still agree with Steve Jobs, computing should just work, like a washing machine. Fetishists and fanboys can then fiddle all they like in their sheds at home, and stop lording over the rest of us. Much of our social lives is infected by cybercrime, which thrives on the lauded 'open' systems IT fanboys love. It gives them more opportunities to feel superior, as they smirk smugly at 'lusers' having their bank accounts drained. The IT industry is a sociopathic cancer on the planet.
