I'd factored in using surplus solar (credits on the electricity account) generated over summer, spring and autumn in winter, to make up for any grid power needed then because of much shorter days, and needing to heat. What I hadn't realised is just how good the new windows would be. The place is warm most of the time with no heating going at all. Will likely not need to pay for electricity across the entire year. I wandered into Alice's room the other day, and thought she had a heater on, there were waves of warm air. She didn't, all of the warmth was from her computer's fans. That small amount of heat had made the whole room toasty, now the new window was insulating against heat loss.
