As an indication of how fake the 'debate' is between fossil fuel and electric cars. Electric cars use batteries. But fossil fuel is also a battery. Both are the chemical storage of energy. The difference is, 70-80% of the energy stored in fossil fuels is wasted when you burn them. Nearly 100% of the energy stored in a battery is used to move an EV. Or put another way, you get 800 km of range in a fossil fuel car by putting 4000 km worth of energy in it. You get 800 km of range in an electric car by putting 800 km of energy in it.
