There’s a double-dip in demand for electricity every day in NSW. One at about 3.30-4 every morning, and one around 1pm. By far the biggest dip is that 1pm dip. The ’when the sun doesn’t shine and wind doesn’t blow’ stuff - we actually use by far the least amount of electricty when the sun is at its peak ever day. Quite strange, I suspect because households are the biggest users, and are at work, though not sure why it doesn’t just drop immediately then from about 9am, rather than gradually sliding down up to 1pm. And why 1pm? And why does it start climbing quickly from that time too? It’s still hours before many go home from work.
