The RATs circled in blue tested mucus blown from the nose into a tissue. The RAT in the middle tested the same person the standard way, by swabbing nose and mouth. Most workplaces have reverted to absolutely hopeless sick leave ideas. Like ‘more than 2 days and you need a doctor’s certificate’, and ‘come back to work if you’re symptom-free’. The latter is the idiot advice from NSW Health, which ignores that you can quite happily spread Covid while having no symptoms at all. The former is laughable, it can take weeks to even get an appointment with a GP. Go back to requiring a negative RAT to be back at work. (Or better multiple negatives, over the course of 1-2 days.) RATs measure how infectious you are. If we don’t do this, we just keep infecting more and more people.
