Have been mentioning liberalism a bit lately. Ideas create societies, and liberalism largely created ours right now. And it's failing, and was always going to. Both what we call the 'Left' and 'Right' use this same framework, so most of our modern political debates are a waste of time. Liberalism both replaces society with a 'market' or 'Economy', and makes ordinary people into customers in that Economy. So that they come to see politics as good or bad customer service.
