The whole idea behind bushwalking and camping is revealing. That our ‘bush’ is some thing, that we can go and see. ‘Nature’. Nothing captures better (though we never think about it this way) our total disconnection from the land we live in, or are visiting. Turning the landscape into a theme park, a tourist attraction. Like it’s some ‘natural’ separately existing thing.
