"...up until about 2010, Facebook was mainly a website for young people. Young people doing stupid things. And it was glorious. But now, I can’t stand it. Now, all it is is one big family photo album full of weddings and babies all the time and I’m so bored with it I can barely bring myself to go on." You can do private life sharing in private FB groups. The amount of public oversharing of personal life details in peoples' main timelines - do friends of friends of friends really care about somebody else's holiday, or their kids? And FB is the first time in all of human history that there's a space where people can interact, globally, in real-time. Is the best use of it just to constantly post about ourselves? Is that a very 'social' thing to do? It's the slide night thing again, who wants to sit through endless details of other peoples' personal lives, old OR young?
