Our homes and land were once so important to us that we built fortresses to protect them. Then economic thinkers replaced land-based identity with job-based identity. Today people are told 'move to where the jobs are'. But it's fake, we still need that deep groundedness, a connection to land. Politics shows it, 'sovereignty' is what now wins elections. Economy politicians are smart, on the one hand their policies actually strip away peoples' sovereign right to a home, to a connection to a piece of land, and replace it with a job. But they then run for office on a platform of 'sovereignty', the very thing the Economy takes away with jobs. It's a perpetual motion machine of winning strategy.
