Elsa Dreisig is a wonderful French-Danish soprano. Opera singers are extraordinary, physically what they do is harder than most elite sports, plus they have to play a role as an actor, as well as have advanced music knowledge, and be able to speak multiple languages. I’ve been lucky to be able to chat a little bit with Elsa in the past couple of years about the behind the scenes craft of opera singing. She brings such wonderful intelligence and personality to any role. This beautiful song is from Gounod’s opera, Faust.
