Did you have a New Year resolution? Mine, hmm. Maybe that we don’t make public thinking about life and enjoying life mutually exclusive things. Australia can be frustrating like that, it often opposes thought and living, as if they were two different things. Sometimes the leisure culture of Oz seems like those people who desperately try to be busy, to avoid having to face how they’re really feeling. Do we ‘have a good time’ as a sort of national religion because stopping and doing nothing for a moment would expose those sorts of feelings?
