I think it was Bernard Shaw who taught me the only rule of salaries. You get paid according to the power you have. All other rules are lies. Why have workers’ salaries gone backwards? Simple - they’ve lost power. And they’ve lost power because they’ve left unions. Workers with money is businesses with cashed-up customers. Everybody wins.
