A Formula E car. All-electric. These cars only carry relatively small batteries, much smaller than modern EV road cars, less than 40 kWh. It's still enough to do nearly 100 km, at very high speeds. They flog an F1 car off the line, 0-100 in 1.8 seconds. They can manage with only small batteries because the regenerative braking in these is enormous, they literally make their own fuel as they go along. The Bathurst 1000 this week. As a series V8s is struggling, because Australians mostly don't drive V8s now, and very few drive Mustangs, and even fewer Camaros. The crowds still come, but the series now doesn't reflect the cars ordinary people drive. I think they should include hybrids, or even full electrics, into the future. F1 cars have been hybrid already for years, as have Le Mans cars. They've never been faster. Full-EV racing will eventually smash all petrol-engined racing records.
