Toby Walsh in the Herald today, saying things about social media that I often say about it. That it’s hijacked our societies, we transact everything from our personal to professional to political lives inside it. That it doesn’t connect us, it splinters us into a proliferation of competing teams continually fighting each other over every single tiny topic. That’s its business model, that’s what the algorithms do. The fights drive traffic, traffic drives revenue.
