When teaching physics I noticed that not many people are aware of the mirrors 3 of the Apollo missions (11, 14 and 15) left on the moon. Since the moon landings, lasers have been fired at these mirrors from Earth to give very accurate readings of the distance of the Moon from Earth, and to do other research. This is the mirror Apollo 14 left on the Moon. The Russians also have two sets of mirrors on the Moon, and a private company is sending some more in 2019. Also a photo of Buzz Aldrin’s footprint from the Apollo 11 mission, just because it’s a great shot.
