A few times this week I sat and watched the traffic. And was amazed again at the sheer number of wankpanzers (big utes) rolling by. A perfect example of how we never leave high school. People own these vehicles for only one reason. Because other people own these vehicles. The same reason people all owned yo-yos at school or wore the same sneakers. These are crap vehicles in every possible way. They have the aerodynamics of a brick wall, which gulps fuel fighting the wind resistance. They have lots of weight high up, causing body roll in corners. The dual cabs are rarely comfortable, except in the front. They have too much weight and are sprung and suspended for loads, to be really good ‘driver’s cars’. Their trays are small and more aesthetic than functional. They’re hopelessly unsafe in collisions, with other vehicles. They use lots of fuel. Not one redeeming feature. A triumph of peer pressure over engineering.
