If you work in any of these jobs (you can add cafes, supermarkets, child care centres and funeral homes to the list, they’re under (o) in the regulations), then if you catch Covid, under NSW law you are automatically assumed to have caught it at work, for the purpose of workers compensation. You don’t have to prove it, it’s an automatic thing under law. The employer has to prove you DIDN’T catch it at work. Most people don’t know this. They also don’t know that the NSW Government has been trying since 2021 to have this clause removed from the Workers Compensation Act. Don’t vote in March because the ALP or Nats or LNP are your favourite team. Vote to save lives.
