The genius of the renewables transition is that everybody wins. (Except foreign fossil fuel and nuclear companies.) For example, with OVO's supercheap overnight rates, and free energy between 11am and 2pm every day, combined with the solar we're paying nothing at all to power both the house and car. So we're big winners. How does OVO win? Renewables make wholesale electricity so cheap that OVO makes money both with the cheap overnight rates, and even giving electricity away for free during the middle of the day (the grid pays OVO to use it). And then it also gets our exported solar to sell to other customers, at a markup rate of nearly 1200%. Anybody who isn't shifting their household to renewables and transport to EV may as well be burning cash to keep warm. Anybody voting for nuclear power as a way to get cheap electricity has a mental illness.
