The English journalist Christina Patterson has been fighting a very brave fight against trans activism. She makes the excellent point, one I’ve posted here a few times, that the concept of trans is the social media-driven explosive extrapolation of a tiny minority of genuinely suffering people, with a condition called gender dysphoria. Patterson says nearly everybody now labelling themselves as trans is actually suffering not gender dysphoria, but social contagion. Every age has its social contagions. This one is destroying many young peoples’ lives, with drugs and surgery irrevocably changing their bodies. Patterson is also no conservative, which the team sports politics of our day would always fall back on. She’s a ‘Leftie’. While the ‘Righties’ also dislike trans theory, this is nothing to do with Left or Right. It’s about calling out dangerous ideas whose only basis is social media contagion.
