Subsidised home batteries have been a thing for 8 weeks now. Installations are averaging 5000 per *week*. Let that sink in. It’s the equivalent of adding a new Mt Piper power station to the grid every FORTNIGHT. This should have been done years ago, it will drive prices down to zero for households, some will even make money. And take pressure off the bigger generators in peak times, driving the wholesale price down for everybody. Remember the alternative lunacy we’ve been doing? Where gas ‘peaking plants’ fire up in those peak times, generating enormously expensive electricity? Humans are thick.
